Privacy

The short version: Teyres has no telemetry or analytics, in the app or on this site. Your workbooks, formulas, cell values and file names are never sent by the app.
What the app sends
License checks. When you enter a key, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Polar to activate it. The Mac's name is how the activation shows in the customer portal. At each launch and then once a day, the app sends the key and its activation ID to Polar to confirm the subscription. Like any web request, this also reveals your IP address to Polar.
Update checks. Once a day the app downloads the update feed from teyres.com. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and the app version. No system profile is sent.
Problem reports. The Report a Problem… menu item and the crash prompt build a zip on your Desktop. It holds the diagnostic log (cell addresses, sheet names and, in rare cases, a workbook's file name), the macOS crash report if there is one, and the app, macOS and Excel versions. It leaves your Mac only if you choose to email it to us.
Purchases
Polar is the merchant of record. It collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to sell you the subscription, under Polar's privacy policy. We see your email, the country you bought from and the state of your subscription, and we use them only to support you, handle refunds, and meet tax and legal obligations.
